Buddy Merrill, known for his multiple guitar technique, has recorded 407 instrumentals including his first single,
Brontosaurus Walk / Poinciana, which was released in 1965. There have been 28 Buddy Merrill albums released on the Accent label distributed domestically and licensed by GNP Crescendo Records In Japan, Mexico, Germany, Italy,Australia,France,Brazil,Argentina and the UK. PHASES is a collection of Buddy’s composition’s, with exception of “Vanessa”,and represents some of his best work. Most of the recordings are orchestral, displaying his outstanding arrangements and the many combinations of electric and acoustic guitars combined with other
effects make for extremely unique sounds. The process of ‘sound on sound’ recording was time consuming.
“It often took me 3 to 5 hours to record a 2 minute song .That is not including writing the arrangements.” says Buddy.
