A Selected Discography
This discography includes all of Buddy Merrill's known solo releases in the United States since 1956. Many of his singles and albums were also released in foreign countries on a variety of labels. No attempt has been made to catalog all of these foreign releases. Omitted are the dozens of recordings (including reissues, compilations, and repackages) by the Lawrence Welk Orchestra released since 1956 on which Merrill performed, as well as the many solo recordings by members of the Lawrence Welk Orchestra that also involved him. Although a few recordings are listed on which Merrill played as a sideman, there are others that could not be documented. Note that in many cases, different recordings were used for singles than for albums (e.g., "Poinciana" on Accent AC-1161 is a very different recording than on the Accent album, "The Guitar Sounds of Buddy Merrill"), and in other instances, a different mix was used for a later release. All of the compact disks represent digital remasters direct from tape (2, 3, 4, 8, or 24 tracks).
